Anif is an idyllic village situated south of the city of Salzburg. It is inextricably linked with the most famous conductor of the 20th century – Herbert von Karajan. Up until his death in 1989, Karajan pulled the strings at the Salzburg Festival, brought international stars to the Mozart city, and internationalised the Festival.
