Besides countless smaller events, recurring top events also regularly take place in SalzburgerLand. Here is a summary of important events that attract droves of interested visitors every year.

Out of Bounds Festival

The annual Out of Bounds Festival rings in the start of the bike park season in Leogang. Participants and spectators enjoy an outstanding event each year with fast downhills and spectacular tricks. 2017 Dates: 10th – 11th June, 2017

Mozart 100

Every year, the participants of the Mozart 100 make a remarkable achievement. A fabulous 100km are covered by the runners on this day. This run starts with a lap of Salzburg and continues onto the Fuschlsee region where the finish line is crossed. Date: 17th June, 2018

Alpine Summer opening

Salzburg Festival

The Salzburg Festival from July to late August is probably the most significant cultural event in Salzburg. Annually some 180 operas, concerts, readings and theatre performances, including the famous “Jedermann” (Everyman) on the Cathedral Square are part of the programme. Dates: 21st July – 31st August, 2017

Jazz Festival Saalfelden

For more than 3 decades, Saalfelden has become the centre of the Jazz World at the end of every August. Musicians from around the world perform their numbers for the public in front of the totally unique backdrop of the Steinernen Meer Mountains. Dates: 24th – 27th August, 2017

Bauernherbst (Harvest Festival) opening

Towards the end of the summer, when the fields have been harvested and the cattle returns to the valley from the mountain pastures, the fifth season begins in SalzburgerLand: the Salzburg Bauernherbst (Harvest Festival). Ironman 70.3

The Ironman consists of swimming for 1.9 kilometres, cycling for 90km and running 21.1km – it adds up to a total distance of 113km or 70.3 miles! Tough sportspeople take on this challenge at the end of August in Zell am See. Date: 27th August, 2017. Zell am See

Parachute Target Jumping World Cup

Every year, Thalgau hosts this spectacular event. Extreme targeted landing is the key to this very demanding sport. Dates: 8th – 10th September, 2017

Eddy Merckx Classic

A cycling race in a class of its own through the Fuschlsee region and the Salzburg Lake District. Side by side with the cycling legend Eddy Merckx. 2017 Date: 10th September, 2017

Finals of the “International Four Hills Tournament”

The last and thus all-important event in the Four Hills Tournament takes place each year in the beginning of January at the Paul-Ausserleitner ski jump in Bischofshofen. 2018 Dates: 5th – 6th January, 2018. Bischofshofen

Audi FIS Ladies Night Slalom

Fingers crossed for the ski ladies at the Night Slalom in Flachau early January. Sporting excitement and a lot of emotions are guaranteed! 2018 Dates: 9th January, 2018.  Flachau

Mountain Attack

The Mountain Attack competition in Saalbach is an alpine ski mountaineering race for the toughest of the tough. Those who participate cover over 3000 metres in altitude across 6 summits – and all of that during the night! 2018 Date: January, 2018.  Saalbach Hinterglemm

International Hot Air Balloon Week

A little less tough but all the more colourful and visually enchanting is the hot air balloon week at the end of January in Filzmoos. 2018 Date: January, 2018.  Filzmoos

Preberlauf

The aim of this unique ski mountaineering race in Lungau is the summit of the 2,741 m high Preber mountain in Tamsweg. If the weather is nice, you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings and views during your sporting performance. 2018 Date: March, 2018. Tamsweg
