Twice the scenery … for heights of enjoyment!

With so many mountains, it is very easy to lose your bearings. Not to worry. The simplest way is to ask one of the locals. They will not only send you off in the right direction, they will probably share one or two personal tips with you for your next hiking expedition. The Wagrain-Kleinarl hiking area attracts happy wanderers with its traditional alpine pastures, along with mountain huts where you can enjoy the impressive views at the same time as you do the delicious regional food.

Twice the nature … Refreshing hiking destinations

One extremely popular excursion destination is the Jägersee, a lake just 4 km outside of Kleinarl. Even those less-active summer holidaymakers can reach this lake in very comfortably, either by car or public transportation. If, however, you really want to earn that hearty snack, you will find your reward 700 vertical meters higher up: The Tappenkarsee draws hikers, not only because of its overwhelming mountain views, but also with two mountainn huts (open in summer) as well as a refuge shelter run by the Austrian Alpine Association.
