Biking in the Hohe Tauern National Park Holiday Region equates to boundless enjoyment on over 1600 km of trails spanning more than 80,000 vertical meters. Here you will find paths that climb gently, side-by-side with breathtaking single trails with perfect, gravel-clad curves. Which means the Tauern Bike Region, which has already proven itself as the venue for Transalp competition, guarantees the ultimate cycling experience for everyone.

If mountain bikers had to imagine paradise, anyone in the know would be sure to think of the Hohe Tauern. After all, this patch of SalzburgerLand is like an enormous amusement park. In the mood for a single trail today? No problem! Tomorrow a bike marathon? Which route would you prefer? And the day after tomorrow, maybe hit the bike park? Go ahead! And if this amazing selection of tours, trails and bike parks has you working up quite a sweat, we’d recommend diving into one of the countless swimming lakes in our region, where you can splash about to your heart’s content. But you have to earn it first! Just like a table lavishly set for a feast, awaiting you are the high-alpine landscapes of the Hohe Tauern National Park Holiday Region and the surrounding Grasberge in the north. No matter where you look, you’ll get wind of exciting tours, such as the proven Transalp ride over the Krimmler Tauern with single trails on the Wildkogel or out in the direction of the Grossglockner. The Tauern Bike Tour will lead you to the northern part of the Pinzgau and even on to Passau in Germany.

In its role as a biking destination, Hohe Tauern National Park Holiday Region is also a member of the Mountain Bike Holidays collaborative. This organization also awards the coveted “approved bike area” seal of quality, which the Hohe Tauern National Park Holiday Region has also been proud to accept. The criteria comprise a minimum number of tours ranging in difficulty, expert assistance for mountain bikers, as well as bike transportation on public transit or mountain lifts.
