Monday will bring plenty of sunshine to the mountains again, with only isolated patches of fog in the valleys. The situation will be different in the Salzach Valley/Tennengau and as far as northern Flachgau, where thick fog will persist below 600 to 800 metres, with isolated snow flurries possible. However, the sun may break through at times on the edge of the Alps. The wind will be light, with moderate north-westerly winds in the Lungau region. Maximum temperatures: -3 to 5 °C, with the warmest temperatures in the Lungau region.

Tuesday will start off with thick clouds, but the cloud cover may break up at times in Pinzgau, Pongau and especially in Lungau. Here and in northern Flachgau, there will only be occasional snowfall, but from the Loferer Steinberge mountains to the Salzkammergut, a little more fresh snow is expected in the morning in the northern foothills. In the afternoon, the clouds will slowly dissipate and the snow showers will gradually subside by the evening. The wind will be moderate to brisk from the west to north-west (peaks of 30 to 40 km/h, in Lungau partly 50 km/h from the north-west). Early values: -6 to -1 °C, maximum temperatures: -3 to 1 °C.

New Year's Eve will start off sunny, with a few lingering clouds in the north. During the day, more high clouds will roll in, thickening up in the afternoon and evening. In the evening, some snowfall will move in from the north. The north-westerly wind will be brisk, with gusts of 40 to 60 km/h in parts of Lungau. Lowest temperatures: -15 to -4 degrees, highest temperatures: -5 to 0 degrees. During New Year's Eve, the clouds will gradually clear again, with some light snowfall possible at first. The wind will also weaken somewhat, but will remain brisk, especially in the Lungau region.

Thursday (New Year's Day) will bring sunshine alongside a few high clouds, and the wind should be significantly weaker. Fog may persist in some areas in the morning. Low temperatures: -14 to -4 °C, high temperatures: -4 to 3 °C.
