That´s why nature conservation, the climate neutrality and sustainability are the first priorities in the SalzburgerLand.
From arrival to ski shuttle
Your journey starts back home, because of the well- developed rail offers. ÖBB (federal Austrian railway) offers several daily connections to the SalzburgerLand every day. Once arrived, the hotel´s own shuttle services take you directly from the railway station to your holiday accommodation. When arrived in your accommodation you don´t need an own vehicle, because of the free ski busses which are driving almost everywhere near your front door.
Eco-friendly hotels
Many hotels in the city and in the province of Salzburg have been awarded the Austrian eco-label. It´s obvious that for the “Bioparadies” hosts in SalzburgerLand organic and sustainability are main priorities.
Sustainable fun on the slopes
A winter holiday without skiing is unimaginable for many. But Salzburg´s cable cars are pioneers in climate protection and energy efficiency. The “Schmittenhöhe” in Zell am See- Kaprun and the “Rauriser Hochalmbahn”, for example are considered pioneers in terms of the environmental policy. The “Rauriser Hochalmbahn” produces a hundred percent electricity from hydropower.
And by the way, you don´t have to worry about the artificial snow in the SalzburgerLand nowadays. Because of the state-of-the-art snow making techniques, the water comes from storage lakes on the mountain, and the snow returns to the nature in form of meltwater. In fact, we don´t have to use any chemicals therefor.
