Hikes around the lake and up to the surrounding alpine pastures promise pure enjoyment and rejuvenate body, mind, and soul. The alpine huts, rustic snack stations, and restaurants around Wolfgangsee offer special seasonal culinary delights right through to the end of October. That are autumn delights at Wolfgangsee.
A packed calendar of events on the water, on land, and even in the air makes Wolfgangsee an attractive destination all year round. Highlights include the famous Wolfgangseer Advent, open-air band concerts, operetta evenings, the international Wolfgangseelauf, the Summer Nights in St. Wolfgang, the Nannerl Festival in St. Gilgen, and the Autumn Market in Strobl … There is truly something for everyone.
Spring is here!
A spirit of renewal and awakening fills the air around the lake in spring. Everything begins to blossom, and the gentle spring sunshine invites you to stroll, hike, and cycle through the awakening landscape.Nowhere else in Austria are there as many lakes as in the Salzkammergut — and nowhere else can you take in such a wealth of impressions shaped by water, forests, and meadows, by natural monuments and cultural landmarks, and by such breathtaking scenic beauty.
Summer Freshness!
Those who cannot decide between a mountain or a lake holiday, but just want to have everything, are in exactly the right place here. Hardly any other place has been the desire for so many guests from near and far for more than 1,000 years. Anyone who appreciates genuine hospitality and loves good food will feel right at home here. Wolfgangsee – by far the most beautiful.
Whether you just want to swim and soak up the sun, or try sailing, surfing, diving, stand-up paddling, water skiing, wakeboarding, canoeing, or kayaking, the crystal-clear Wolfgangsee promises action-packed adventures! The surrounding lakeside baths and beaches also invite you to relax and enjoy a sun-filled swim.
Autumn delights!
For many, autumn is the most beautiful time of year, as the traditional Bauernherbst begins around the lake. The region bursts into color — trees dress themselves in vibrant hues, young women and men proudly wear their colorful dirndls and festive lederhosen, and the farmers’ harvest is reflected in a rich variety of colors on plates at local inns and on the abundantly filled market stalls.
Winter is here!
The month of December leads us into the quietest time of the year – Advent. In the towns of St. Gilgen, Strobl and St. Wolfgang, the Wolfgangsee Advent opens its doors at the end of November. Authentic markets and an atmospheric programme of events ensure a contemplative Advent atmosphere. By boat you can easily glide from market to market across the lake.
On the Postalm, winter sports enthusiasts can expect fantastic conditions for skiing, cross-country skiing, tobogganing, winter hiking, or just for soaking up the sun. This makes Lake Wolfgang a premier spot – clear and safe.
White Flakes dance silently, sunlight twinkles, happiness and joy are wrapped up, and the whole valley is covered in snow
