Road bike riding now looks back on a long tradition in SalzburgerLand. No wonder then, that one of the true greats of this sport has spent many hours in the saddle here on this wonderful piece of Earth, and still rides pretty quickly around our streets. Of course, we are talking about Eddy Merckx, the Belgian cycling legend who is known as the most successful road cyclist of all time and namesake of the legendary Eddy Merckx Classic Cycling Marathon. However, also away from the many competitions you can have lots of fun here at your whim. This is provided by the three Road Bike Regions of “SalzburgerLand-Salzkammergut“, “Salzburg Sports World” and also “Bike Region Pinzgau”.

From the families with little adventurers to cycling and mountain enthusiasts, Salzburg Sportswelt invites for cycling, mountain biking and gravel biking. It offers over 500 kilometres of bicycle and mountain bike trails along with 21 E-bike tours for every taste.
Bike Region Pinzgau
Since 2020, the entire region of Pinzgau has earned the distinction of being the largest biking region in Austria, a title that resonates with both professional cyclists and recreational biking enthusiasts alike. Nestled amongst seven magnificent mountains, the region boasts over 70 kilometres of marked lines and trails, each winding through landscapes that offer unique and breathtaking mountain scenery unlike anything you’ve ever witnessed before.
