The four specialist doctors in internal medicine, under the direction of Dr. Christoph Mauel, have, since summer 2016, been on-hand with modern and practical examination and treatment rooms for the best possible diagnosis, along with therapy in the outpatient clinic day and inpatient ward areas. Thus, it is possible to offer holidaymakers a comprehensive “Medical Check Up” with their choice of day, time and all under one roof.
Medical check-up in the EMCO Private Hospital
Patients arrive, without having eaten, at 9 a.m. in the EMCO Private Hospital. First, a detailed medical history is checked by the doctor. Subsequently, a complete laboratory investigation is performed (red and white blood cell count, serology, hormone levels) and an ultrasound of the liver, spleen, gall bladder, arteries, kidney, bladder, prostate or uterus. After breakfast, the heart is checked (resting ECG and exercise ECG) and lung function measurement is performed.
Depending on the results of these clinical examinations, further investigations in the area of skin cancer prevention, bone densitometry, thyroid, investigations of the entire motion and support apparatus or checks of the eyes can be offered. An additional dietary consultation can be booked.
For the preparation and implementation of invasive preventive medical examinations in the field of endoscopy (stomach, colon, rectum, lung) or additional radiological procedures such as (B). CT scans, MRI scans, and nuclear medicine can be organised with follow-up appointments in the same week. Also, practical appointments can be booked in the sleep laboratory.
In the early afternoon, detailed discussions are held on the collected findings along with any further recommendations.
