Harvest Festival – Opening 2026 in Maria Alm

traditional – idyllic – musical

On Saturday, 22 August 2026, the 31st Salzburg “Bauernherbst” will be officially launched in Maria Alm in the picturesque Hochkönig region with a major celebration, featuring a festive parade and an extensive supporting program across the SalzburgerLand.

Every year, one of the more than 70 Harvest Festival towns across the region hosts the official opening of the Salzburg Harvest Festival. This year, Maria Alm Hochkönig, region, which is rich in tradition,  has  the honor.

Under the motto “G’sungen und G’spielt,” the official statewide Bauernherbst opening in Maria Alm on 22 August 2026 will bring festive sounds, living tradition, and a warm atmosphere to the Hochkönig region. A ceremonial parade marks the beginning—and with it starts a very special time of year: a season of gratitude for the harvest, of returning from the alpine summer pastures, and of togetherness.
Visitors have the possibility to look forward to a first-class Harvest Festival atmosphere!
  • Grand festive parade with the traditional brass band in regional clothes
