A Holiday in a Self-Catering Cabin
If there were a rooster, he’d be crowing by now. It’s just before dawn, and the horizon is painted in shades of violet and orange. We slip out from under the thick down duvets, make ourselves a cup of coffee, and bundle up warmly — because right outside the cabin door, a spectacular sunrise is waiting for us. The snowfall from the night before has laid a flawless white blanket over our footprints, but now the flakes have stopped falling. It’s going to be a glorious, cloudless day. As the sun slowly rises over the horizon, we start imagining everything we could do — a snowshoe hike to the summit, a toboggan ride down to the valley, building a snowman, or simply sitting on the bench outside the cabin, reading and letting the sun warm our faces. Up here, time seems to move differently, and the rhythm of the day is unhurried. Perhaps we’ll just prepare a hearty breakfast with regional products we picked up in the valley and then crawl back under the thick duvets for a while…
A cabin holiday in harmony with nature is all about relaxation and slowing down. Those who wish can retreat to a self-catering hut and enjoy true solitude — perhaps even without Wi-Fi or TV. In return, there’s peace, nature, freedom, and breathtaking views. If you prefer company and don’t want to miss out on comfort or a touch of luxury, you can stay in one of SalzburgerLand’s charming alpine villages.
