The Saalfelden Leogang holiday region is located in the heart of Pinzgau and charms with diverse offers for winter sports fans, cross-country skiers, families and those interested in culture.
Over 270km of slopes and 70 modern cable cars and lifts guarantee comfort, depth and diversity in the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn in winter. From gentle slopes with wide carving pistes down to the Black World Cup run, with perfectly shaped Funparks, unspoilt off-piste runs and finally onto the moguls.
With the Asitzbahn cable cars in Leogang, you can go directly to the Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn ski circuit, which with just under 270km of ski runs is one of the largest ski areas in Austria. The so-called “Home of Lässig” will be even cooler with the winter season 2019/2020. Thanks to the new Ski ALPIN CARD, two further top ski areas are added to the Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn ski circuit with its 270 kilometres of slopes – the Schmittenhöhe ski area in Zell am See and the year-round glacier ski area Kitzsteinhorn in Kaprun. The new ticket network now offers access to a total of 408 kilometres of downhill skiing, 121 lifts and numerous ski huts.
The ‘family’ mountain Hinterreit is the ideal family ski area. Perfectly groomed slopes and modern drag-lifts guarantee skiing fun for the whole family, while a training lift is available for all big and little beginners. On the FIS training course, you will find also ski stars training. Off the slopes, many attractions are waiting to be discovered. These include an exciting Flying Fox XXL, romantic horse-drawn sleigh rides, relaxing snowshoe walks, ice skating across the thick ice of the frozen Ritzensee Lake and also skid fun on one of four toboggan runs.
Nordic winter sports tend to be slower than Alpine skiing and offer so much more time to enjoy the snowy landscape. For example, the sparkling snow while cross-country skiing, the tranquillity of the winter forests during a winter hike or the splendour of the frozen lakes while ice skating. All this can be experienced in Saalfelden Leogang conveniently in one place – in the Nordic Park on the Ritzensee Lake. Here, several cross-country trails start, you can try your hand at Biathlon, glide on ice skates across the lake or start a winter hike over the creaking snow and always exactly as you like.
Saalfelden Leogang has, in recent years, developed further with 150km of cross-country ski trails into a real cross-country and biathlon stronghold in Austria. The Fun Snow Park is the ideal training ground for the cross-country junior and in the Felix Gottwald ski jumping Stadium in Saalfelden you can learn ski jumping in both summer and in winter on three to four ski jumps.
