Over 270k of slopes and 70 modern cable cars and lifts guarantee comfort, depth and diversity in the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn in winter. From gentle slopes with wide carving pistes down to the Black World Cup run, with perfectly shaped fun parks, unspoilt off-piste runs and finally on to the moguls.
With the Asitzbahn and Steinbergbahn cable cars in Leogang, you can go directly to the Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn ski circuit, which with just under 270km of ski runs is one of the largest ski areas in Austria. Thanks to the new Ski ALPIN CARD, two further top ski areas were added to the Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn ski circuit with its 270 kilometres of slopes – the Schmittenhöhe ski area in Zell am See and the year-round glacier ski area Kitzsteinhorn in Kaprun. The new ticket network now offers access to a total of 408 kilometres of downhill skiing, 121 lifts and numerous ski huts.
The ‘family’ mountain Hinterreit is the ideal family ski area. Perfectly groomed slopes and modern drag-lifts guarantee skiing fun for the whole family, while a training lift is available for all beginners both young and old. On the FIS training course, you will also find ski stars training. Off the slopes, many attractions are waiting to be discovered. These include an exciting Flying Fox XXL, romantic horse-drawn sleigh rides, relaxing snowshoe walks, ice skating across the thick ice of the frozen Ritzensee Lake, and skid fun on one of four toboggan runs.
Nordic winter sports tend to be slower than Alpine skiing and offer so much more time to enjoy the snowy landscape. For example, the sparkling snow while cross-country skiing, the tranquillity of the winter forests during a winter hike or the splendour of the frozen lakes while ice skating. All this can be experienced in Saalfelden Leogang conveniently in one place – in the Fun & Snow Park. Several cross-country trails start here, and you can try your hand at biathlon, glide on ice skates across the lake or start a winter hike over the creaking snow and always exactly as you like.
Saalfelden Leogang has, in recent years, developed further with 150km of cross-country ski trails into a real cross-country and biathlon stronghold in Austria. The Fun Snow Park is the ideal training ground for the cross-country junior and in the Felix Gottwald ski jumping Stadium in Saalfelden you can learn ski jumping in both summer and in winter on three to four ski jumps.

It is a panoramic cinema with peaceful islands and plateaus with hammocks. There are also new TONspuren islands along the hiking trail between the mountain station and the Asitz summit. For carefree hiking from place to place, there are various hiking weeks without luggage through the wonderful places of the Saalachtal valley to choose from. Around 22 trail running routes as well as 2 high-altitude routes ensure a running experience over rough and smooth terrain in Saalfelden Leogang.
The two 18-hole golf courses of Brandlhof and Urslautal meet every requirement a golf fan could have of classic championship courses. And whoever would like even more variety, there are another 15 scenic and challenging golf courses within a radius of 70km.
A region for all bicycle fans

The extensive mountain bike and trail bike path network in Saalfelden Leogang offers easy, short or difficult tours for beginners and advanced bikers. Guides from the bike school and the hoteliers of the excellent bike hotels are always happy to help their guests plan their tours. In the Epic Bikepark Leogang, which is one of the most renowned in Europe, beginners of all ages can learn in the so-called Riders Playground how best to steer their bikes over trails, stones and roots on the mountain. This is the best preparation for the more demanding lines in the Bikepark and the numerous single trails in the region. Anyone who does not yet dare to take a challenging bike tour, but would like to expand their radius of action, will benefit in Saalfelden Leogang from the offer of one of the largest e-bike regions in the world: e-bikes of all classes can be rented at numerous locations and the batteries can be recharged quickly even in the alpine huts.
Largest biking region in Austria
Since 2020, Saalfelden Leogang, together with Saalbach Hinterglemm and Fieberbrunn, has been Austria’s largest biking region. As in winter through the ski circus, Saalfelden Leogang, Saalbach Hinterglemm and Fieberbrunn are now growing together in summer. The trails of Saalbach Hinterglemm are only a stone’s throw away from the Bikepark Leogang: a total of seven mountains, nine mountain railways and over 70 kilometres of lines and trails are waiting to be discovered by bike.
Saalfelden Leogang is world champion again
With the successful World Championships 2012 and the World Cup competitions in recent years, Saalfelden Leogang has made a name for itself in international cycling. In 2020, Austria’s mountain bike Mecca will again host a major sporting event: From 7 to 11 October 2020 the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships will take place. The title decisions in the disciplines downhill, Olympic cross-country, E-MTB and pump track will be taken. A weekend packed with spectacular racing action and cool side events.
