Good Morning Obertauern!

Be the first on the ski slope with First.Track.

Together with Maria Höfl-Riesch, three-time Olympic champion and Obertauern's snow ambassador, we took the First.Track one hour before the lifts officially started and thus carved our turns on the perfectly groomed slopes.

Getting up early is the way to take advantage of the unique “First.Track” offer in the Obertauern ski area. On six selected dates in winter 2019/2020, locals show you their favourite routes at 7.30 a.m., an hour before the first lifts in Obertauern actually start – this is the perfect experience for all ski fans! The ideal location for the first point of our #5weeks5peaks Challenge.

After spending the night at the stylish Manggei Designhotel Obertauern, the whole group was joined by social influencers Grace Wabbijn (@run.with.grace), Ruud Stammers, Max Fortner (@max.fortner), Dominik Munich (@bavarianexplorer), Luca Jaenichen (@lucajaenichen) and Branislav Rohal (@mr.offenblende) at 7.20 a.m., as we wanted to arrive at the agreed meeting point at 7.30 a.m. to enjoy every First.Track minute. We were also really excited to meet three-time Olympic champion and overall World Cup winner Maria Höfl-Riesch. Especially as once a year this former German ski star and Obertauern’s snow ambassador doesn’t miss the chance to enjoy the First.Track.

Carving the first turns in the snow

Now, we could finally get started. Buckle up the skis, get in the lift and carve out your tracks, because you are practically alone on the ski slope. What a sensational feeling and simply an overwhelming ski slope experience that you don’t want to miss. In addition, it was a lot of fun to explore with the locals “their” Obertauern and they gave us many insider tips for cool deep-snow slopes and descents.

Almdudler Almbrunch & E-Fatbike Tour

Until 9.30 a.m. we covered off a lot of slope kilometres and after that we had truly earned the tasty Almdudler Almbrunch in the Heustadl, which rounds of the First.Track Tour in culinary style. In addition, all First.Track participants were presented with the “full of surprises” Ortovox package. After we had refuelled, we strapped on the skis and snowboards again, because we wanted to treat ourselves to a few more downhill runs before going, after lunch, to the Sonnhof for a brilliant E-Fatbike tour with the CSA ski school. It was real fun to trust in two tyres and not two boards on the snow. If you’ve never done anything like this before, Obertauern is a great location for your E-Fatbike premiere, while the other winter sports enthusiasts are on the ski slope.

After Ski Wellness for tired legs

After so much sport and the wonderful helicopter flight, which can be booked for Obertauern, we went straight back to the hotel. There, we took advantage of the hotel’s wellness area at the Manggei Designhotel Obertauern in the evening. It was simply wonderful to put your legs up after a day on the slopes and recharge your batteries at the Mountain SPA & Elysium.
