In summer, Bruno’s Mountain World on the Hornspitz attracts visitors. The adventure area bult around Bruno the Bear combines puzzle stations, playgrounds, climbing and balancing elements, a fossil sandpit and the Ameisenexpress miniature train. Families reach the adventure mountain comfortably with the Russbach Hornbahn cable car, start their hikes from the top and enjoy panoramic views of the Dachstein massif.

Right in the village, the Russbach Water Park with its natural swimming area offers a play and bathing zone with a children’s canoe course, waterfall, slide and shallow areas for younger guests. The natural pool is filled with clear spring water and provides a refreshing summer experience for all ages. The Kneipp facility and the graduation house with salt-enriched air combines exervise, relacation and preventive health care in a natural setting.
The Geisterwald, or “Ghost Forest”, features a child-friendly themed walk through the woods with interactive experience stations. Along the trail, families find play stations and carefully designed marble runs. Children help forest spirits discover hidden treasures while adults enjoy the peace and woodland scenery. The Geisterwaald suits families with younger children and combines playful learning with authentic nature experiences.
The Motor Skills Park and climbing tower in Russbach offers a public activity area for all age groups. The park promotes coordination and movement, encourages both children and adults to stay active and complements the village’s leisure facilities.
As an Austrian Hiking village, Russbach provides a clearly structured and certified network of hiking trails. Hiking routes start directly in the village centre and lead into the surrounding mountains, ranging from relaxed scenic walks to challenging alpine tours. Guided hikes expand the offer and make hiking attractive for all age gorups and ability levels.
A special highlight of the region is its fossils. Streams around Russbach reveal petrified snails and other relicts from ancient times. These finds make the area an exciting destination für young exploreres andguests interested in nature.
Russbach serves as an ideal starting point for excursions throughout the SalzburgerLand including the city of Salzburg, as well as the neighbouring Salzkammergut. Thanks to its central location, numerous well-known attractions can be reached within about 30 minutes.
In winter, Russbach forms part of the Dachstein West ski region. The area offers wide slopes for families and leisure skiers, a child-friendly practice area and modern lift facilities. In addition to classic skiing, visitors can choose from winter hiking trails, snowshoe tours, tobogann runs and horse-drawn sleigh rides.
