The \u201cclassic\u201d Tauern Cycle Trail from Krimml to Passau<\/strong><\/span><\/span> runs from the Krimmler waterfalls, mostly along the Salzach, to Salzburg and further downstream to the \u201cSalzach \u2013 Inn \u2013 mouth\u201d. Or you can choose the route between Bruck \/ Zell am See and Salzburg through the Saalach valley. <\/span><\/span><\/span>The Tauern Cycle Path and the alternative route via the B311 will be closed to cyclists from the end of March 2026 due to the risk of rockfall between Frohnwies and the Die\u00dfbach power station. From the end of March 2026 (as in the 2025 summer season), a free shuttle bus will operate as a replacement to enable cyclists to bypass this area safely and free of charge.
