The Alpine pasture has become a real place of longing, especially in these fast-paced times. Where the Alpine huts used to serve as a shelter for the herdsmen, they are now the epitome of relaxation and enjoyment. Surrounded by lush green Alpine pastures, peaceful cattle and magnificent mountain panoramas, they are the ultimate destination for hikers in the Alpine summer. The hut hosts invite their guests to refresh themselves after a fabulous hike with their homemade regional delicacies, such as cheese and bread specialities and oven-fresh pastries. On many Alpine pastures cheese is still made fresh and guests experience this live while watching over their host\u2019s shoulders. While still connected to tradition but yet open to the modern, there are also vegetarian specialities and vegan delicacies in selected huts in SalzburgerLand.<\/p>\n

The Sendlhofer family, Feldingh\u00fctte \/ Gadaunerer Hochalmen, Bad Hofgastein say: \u201cThe days start early here on our Feldingh\u00fctte at 1,841 metres above sea level. After getting up at half past five, the cows are driven into the stable and milked. Wood-burning ovens and cheese cauldrons are heated and by breakfast the first one hundred handles have already been made. While rustic Alpine summer huts like ours are reminiscent of a centuries-old tradition, the ski huts on Salzburg\u2019s slopes are stylish and modern. 24 addresses are located on the \u201cCulinary Pathway for Hut Lovers\u201d \u2013 these are down-to-earth and extravagant at the same time and always worth a stop-off. Regional produce, traditional A la Carte dishes and a cosy atmosphere characterise each hut. Each one is different, which in turn means that you must see them all or come back time and again. For our family, a year without the Alpine summer would be unimaginable. For this is reminiscent of life in all its simplicity. Hikers also enjoy this simple life \u2013 we serve homemade Alpine produce such as bacon, house sausages, wood-fired bread, Alpine cheese, Topfenkugerl, cakes, Melissa juice, black berry liqueur or gentian. And nowhere does the food seem to taste better all year round than in a hut.\u201d<\/p>\n
