Listen to and watch the pieces, which can be long and complex, at least once beforehand for maximum fun and so you roughly know what the story is about. You don\u2019t have to, but it will definitely make it more enjoyable.<\/p>\n<h2>Book as soon as possible<\/h2>\n<p>You should <a href=\"http:\/\/www.salzburgerfestspiele.at\/program\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">book the tickets<\/a> as well as your overnight accommodation as soon as possible. The historic centre itself is fully booked months in advance. A hotel or some other kind of accommodation in surrounding SalzburgerLand will definitely be cheaper and less stressful. You could try your luck and see if there are any tickets at the door, but don\u2019t depend on it.<\/p>\n<h2>Getting there and parking<\/h2>\n<p>Regardless of how beautiful Salzburg has become over the centuries and regardless of how strategic its location is between the mountains and the river, drivers don\u2019t have it easy during the Festival. If you are going to drive to the concerts, it\u2019s easiest to take the exit \u201cSalzburg-Mitte\u201d and Neutorstrasse to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salzburg.info\/en\/travel-info\/infos\/underground-car-park-altstadtgaragen_az_5199\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">garages in the mountain<\/a>. Otherwise, public transport (S-bahn and trains to the main station or buses to the historic centre) is undeniably the less stressful choice.<\/p>\n<h2>Weather check<\/h2>\n<p>Make sure you check the weather conditions. If you have tickets for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salzburgerland.com\/en\/a-short-history-of-the-salzburg-festival\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Everyman<\/a>, you can experience anything from stifling heat to icy temperatures. And should it rain, then Everyman will be performed at the Large Festival Hall. Special tip for bad weather: one hour before each \u2018Everyman\u2019 performance on the Domplatz Square, you can try your luck at getting a standing ticket in the Franziskanergasse street and if you are lucky, then you will get to see a star-studded performance.<\/p>\n<p>These tips should help you be perfectly prepared for your visit to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salzburgerland.com\/en\/salzburg-festival-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Salzburg Festival,<\/a> as well as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salzburgerfestspiele.at\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Whitsun<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.osterfestspiele-salzburg.at\/en\/festival\/philosophy-classic-orchestra.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Easter Festivals<\/a>. If you are planning on combing the Festival with a tour of the city, then you should get the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salzburgerland.com\/en\/the-salzburgerland-card-one-card-for-the-whole-holiday\/\">SalzburgerLand Card<\/a>, which is also a 24-hour Salzburg ticket for most attractions and public transport in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salzburgerland.com\/en\/city-of-salzburg\/\">city of Mozart<\/a>.
