Only when everything is in working order can you enjoy your bikepacking adventure without any hitches. A workshop visit is essential unless you\u2019re a skilled mechanic yourself: Are the <strong>brake pads still sufficient<\/strong>? Is the <strong>drivetrain functioning flawlessly<\/strong>? Are the <strong>bottom bracket<\/strong> and <strong>wheels<\/strong> intact? For our tours, we recommend tires over <strong>40 mm wide<\/strong>, preferably <strong>tubeless<\/strong> for better puncture resistance. <strong>Fast-rolling tires<\/strong> are ideal, and depending on your strength, use <strong>38 or 40 gear teeth<\/strong> in the front and <strong>10\/42<\/strong> in the rear. Even if you\u2019ve just had a service check, things can still go wrong. No worries if you follow our advice and bring along the <strong>following spare parts and gear<\/strong>. These will help you quickly and efficiently solve any problems that arise.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>shift cable<\/strong> and <strong>spare battery<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Chain links<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Lightweight tube<\/strong> or <strong>tubeless plugs<\/strong> with tools<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pump<\/strong> or <strong>CO2 cartridge<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Chain oil<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Brake pads<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additionally, make sure to have at least one <strong>water bottle<\/strong>, <strong>front and rear lights<\/strong>, and a <strong>navigation device<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Do You Have the right Bags?<\/h2>\n<p>Once your bike is ready, it\u2019s time to pack. There are several things to consider here as well. The <strong>choice of bags<\/strong> is crucial, and they should definitely be <strong>waterproof<\/strong> to keep your belongings dry even after a heavy downpour. It\u2019s also important to know what goes in which bag. As with any ride, just before setting off, you face the crucial decision of what clothing to bring. A look at the weather forecast helps, but don\u2019t let good weather predictions lull you into a false sense of security. In the mountains, the weather can change very quickly, and you should be prepared for that. The following items are essential:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Complete change of clothes<\/strong>: Undershirt, cycling shorts, jersey, and socks.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Arm and leg warmers<\/strong> for cooler temperatures.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Helmet, sunglasses<\/strong> and <strong>appropriate cycling shoes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For rainy weather, a <strong>rain jacket<\/strong>, possibly <strong>rain pants<\/strong>, and <strong>shoe covers<\/strong> are advisable. Review the route carefully beforehand and if you haven\u2019t already, book your accommodation for the night by noon at the latest.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Off you go!
