Since then, the village has developed remarkably. Today, it is home not only to a railway station with excellent connections, but also to <strong>SalzburgerLand\u2019s first railway museum<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Schwarzach is easily accessible by car, train and bicycle. The <b><strong>\u2018Sagenhafte Tauernradweg\u2019 (\u2018Legendary Tauern Cycle Path\u2019) <\/strong><\/b>and the <b><strong>\u2018Alpe Adria Cycle Path\u2019\u00a0<\/strong><\/b>lead directly through the village, making it an ideal starting point for cycling tours towards Salzburg, Zell am See or even as far as the Upper Adriatic. Natural landscapes, traditional villages, rustic alpine pastures and many other natural beauties await you. Hiking on the Salzburg Sun Terrace is always worthwhile.<\/p>\n<h2><b><strong>\u2018Sagenhafte Tauernradweg\u2019 (\u2018Legendary Tauern Cycle Path\u2019)<\/strong><\/b><\/h2>\n<p>This popular long-distance cycle route begins in Krimml in the far west of SalzburgerLand and ends in Passau in Lower Bavaria, close to the German-Austrian border. The Tauern Cycle Path leads directly through Schwarzach and is ideal for the whole family. It also provides a perfect connection to the Alpe-Adria Cycle Path.<\/p>\n<h2><span>Other special sights<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span>The Salzlecker Table<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\"><span>The tabletop depicts five farmers from the Pongau region, a Protestant preacher and two boys. It commemorates the 1731 \u201cSalzbund\u201d, an alliance formed by Protestant farmers shortly before the expulsion of Salzburg\u2019s Protestants in 1731 and 1732.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span>Parish Church<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\"><span>The parish church in Schwarzach is a Rococo building constructed between 1736 and 1741 according to plans by Father Bernhard Stuart and Johann Kleber. Father Stuart was a professor of mathematics at the University of Salzburg and was also involved in the construction of Leopoldskron Palace in the city of Salzburg.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Inside the church is a remarkable Baroque high altar with columns dating from the 18th century. The altarpiece was created by Wolfgang K\u00f6berl in 1972.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Almenweg Stages in Schwarzach<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\"><span>Stages 3 and 4 of the Salzburger Almenweg cross the Salzburg Sun Terrace. Its three villages are therefore ideally situated for joining the long-distance hiking trail.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Stage 3 leads across the Schneebergkreuz and Gamsk\u00f6gerl to Lake B\u00f6ndlsee in Goldegg.
