There are things that you look forward to all year. The pre-Christmas period is just such a thing for Fabio and Giulia of \u201cBambini con la Valigia\u201d<\/a>, although this is in their opinion more contemplative in Austria than in Italy. \u201cIn our homeland, traditions are not so deeply rooted as here. Our Christmas market is very touristy. The Christmas markets here are very authentic\u201d, enthuses Giulia while she strolls with Fabio and their two kids through the Lake Wolfgang Advent<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Taste trails at the Christmas markets<\/h2>\n

The culinary specialities in the Salzkammergut region have especially impressed these Italians. Delicacies such as farmer\u2019s doughnuts, farmer\u2019s bread or a soup bowl, so a soup served in a hollowed out loaf of bread, were tasted here by the family for the first time. The family was thrilled with the diverse selection of dishes and very delicious tastes on offer at the markets:<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also great to try out the many typical dishes here at Christmas time. The style and way to live the run-up to Christmas, is not the same as we are used to at home. It\u2019s beautiful to see here, because it\u2019s so genuine! \u2013 Giulia<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Warm Mouthfuls<\/h2>\n

Anyone planning a day at the Christmas market need not go hungry. Many local delicacies are offered in the Salzkammergut region, which do not exist in this form during the rest of the year. Hot mulled wine and punch stands, roasted almonds, warm chestnuts and farmer\u2019s breads are just a part of the diverse culinary delights at the Lake Wolfgang Advent. The selection of drinks is also impressively large. Aside from the popular mulled wine and punch, the stands also offer non-alcoholic hot drinks, such as children\u2019s punch. Simone and Siria especially liked the children\u2019s Orange Punch, while Fabio and Giulia warmed themselves with a hot apple cider.<\/p>\n
