Here gold was washed up until the beginning of the 90s, before the place was abandoned. Today, visitors flock to Rauris on hot days to look for gold here at the Rauriser Ache in the shade.<\/p>\n

Gold washing \u2013 and calming down<\/h2>\n

The three bloggers also treat themselves to a little break from the hot temperatures. Theo, the man from the gold washing area, explains to Julia<\/strong><\/a>, Angie<\/strong><\/a><\/a> and Stefanie<\/strong><\/a> what\u2019s with panning for gold. He has been here for many years and gladly passes on his knowledge. For example, that it takes courage and a lot of patience for gold panning. If you do find something, then it is normally very small fragments. \u201cYou will not get rich from it, but it\u2019s incredibly relaxing,\u201d says Theo as he shows the three SalzburgerLand discoverers. Julia, Angie and Stefanie are immersed in gold washing and focus entirely on the one thing.<\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t even know that you can practice gold washing in SalzburgerLand, and yes, there is even a Gold Washing Championships, as we have heard.\u201d (\u2026) It is so much fun, but not as easy as it might look. Panning for gold is very popular in the Hohe Tauern National Park holiday region, where you can try your luck in three places in nature. At the Bodenhaus gold washing area, the forest offers shade and a chance to cool your feet in the Rauriser Ache. Thus, you can search for the small golden shards with full concentration even in hot temperatures.<\/p>\n
