At Twenger Alm\u00a0mountain farming is done the traditional way. In the kitchen the mountain farmer also uses fresh natural ingredients only. Butter, sour cream and cream cheese are produced from the cow\u2019s fresh milk on a daily basis; blackberries are picked by hand. The result: heavenly cakes no hiker can resist.<\/p>\n<h3>Blackberry cake (huckleberries\/ blueberries)<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Ingredients for one baking tray:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>200 g sugar<\/li>\n<li>5 eggs<\/li>\n<li>1 pinch of salt<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc l sunflower oil<\/li>\n<li>250 g spelt flour (smooth) type 630<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd tbsp. baking powder<\/li>\n<li>Pinch of vanilla sugar<\/li>\n<li>Rum (ad libitum)<\/li>\n<li>Blackberries (blueberries)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Preparation:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 180 degrees.<\/li>\n<li>Stir sugar, eggs and salt with hand mixer until frothy.<\/li>\n<li>Stir oil in the mixture.<\/li>\n<li>Mix the baking powder with the flour and stir in little by little until the mixture is homogenous and creamy.<\/li>\n<li>Then season the dough to taste with vanilla sugar and rum.<\/li>\n<li>Line baking tray with baking paper and space out the dough evenly.<\/li>\n<li>Scatter the blueberries side-by-side onto the dough.<\/li>\n<li>Bake the cake for roughly 20 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Let the cake cool down, sprinkle it with icing sugar and serve with whipped cream if desired.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div id=\"attachment_100319\" style=\"width: 1180px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-100319\" class=\"size-1170_658 wp-image-100319\" src=\"https:\/\/www.salzburgerland.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/meisis-reise-lungau-alexandra-enjoys-the-cake-at-the-twenger-alm-1170x658.jpg\" alt=\"Alexandra enjoying the cake at the Twenger Alm\" width=\"1170\" height=\"658\"><p id=\"caption-attachment-100319\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u00a9 SalzburgerLand Tourismus, Michael Gr\u00f6\u00dfinger, Alexandra enjoying the cake at the Twenger Alm<\/p><\/div>\n<h3>Curd cakes (quark cakes)<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Ingredients for 1 springform:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>For the dough:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>300 g wheat flour (smooth) type 405<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd pack of baking powder<\/li>\n<li>Pinch of salt<\/li>\n<li>60 g sugar<\/li>\n<li>120 g cold butter<\/li>\n<li>1 egg (large)<\/li>\n<li>1\/8 l milk<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>For the curd filling<\/strong><\/span>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>140 g butter, room warm<\/li>\n<li>140 g sugar<\/li>\n<li>4 packs of vanilla sugar<\/li>\n<li>Pinch of salt<\/li>\n<li>4 eggs (large)<\/li>\n<li>500 g curd (quark) \u2013 20 % fat<\/li>\n<li>1\/8 l sour cream<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Preparation:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 170 degrees.<\/li>\n<li>Mix flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Cut the cold butter in small pieces and mix with the mass. Then add the egg and milk and knead until the dough is smooth. Finally put dough in a cool place.<\/li>\n<li>In the meantime for the filling, mix butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla sugar until fluffy.
