No. 9 Getreidegasse<\/h3>\n

In the so-called \u201cHagenauer Haus\u201d, Leopold Mozart and family lived from 1747 to 1773. On 27 January 1756, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born.<\/p>\n

The apartments of the Mozart family have been a museum since 1880. Famous exhibits include the violin Mozart played as a child, his concert violin, his clavichord, the fortepiano, portraits and letters of the Mozart family.<\/p>\n

On display in this historic setting are manuscripts (facsimiles), certificates and memorabilia, the original portraits of the family members, including the oil painting \u201cMozart at the Piano\u201d painted by his brother-in-law, Joseph Lange, in 1789, as well as historical instruments (Mozart\u2019s concert grand).<\/p>\n

Museum<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Since 2005 Mozart\u2019s birthplace has been remodeled step-by-step. On the first floor we find the exhibition \u201cThe Daily Life of a Boy Genius\u201d, which sheds light on the daily routine of the Mozart family, both on the road and at home in Salzburg.<\/p>\n

The second floor is dedicated to the theme \u201cMozart in the Theatre\u201d. In numerous dioramas (miniature stages), the history of how Mozart\u2019s operas were received is illustrated. Model stages from the late 18th to the 20th centuries show us the variety of interpretations over the years.<\/p>\n

As of March 2009, the Mozart apartment on the 3rd floor has been presented in a new form. Exhibits include Mozart\u2019s childhood violin, his clavichord and numerous family portraits, incl. the famous unfinished portrait of Mozart by Joseph Lange.<\/p>\n

Mozart Archive<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Mozart Archive, whose sources are of great importance for the cultural and musical history of Salzburg, is housed on the top floor of Mozart\u2019s birthplace.<\/span>

  • Catalogue of events and artists consisting or programs, posters and voices of the press<\/li>\n
