This charming little town in Salzburg\u2019s Flachgau region is located directly at the Wallersee. This is the largest lake in the Salzburg Lake District and is the warmest of the four lakes. The young town in the Flachgau region stands for unspoilt nature, well-developed skater trails, biking and hiking trails, romantic cross-country skiing trails and ice skating possibilities. The local gastronomy leaves no culinary wishes unfulfilled. Whether in the rustic taverns, the traditional inns or the excellent fish and snails restaurant, taste sensations abound.<\/p>\n

The proximity to the Wallersee entices for a walk. Neumarkt am Wallersee has a marina with a lovely eastern bay, boat rentals, sailing school, a beach resort, a camping area and a private swimming area. The original prisoners\u2019 cells from the 16th Century bear witness to the judiciary and the criminal history of Neumarkt.<\/p>\n

Especially during the Harvest Festival<\/a>, Neumarkt shows its full character with court festivities, traditions, customs and culinary speciality weeks with regional specialities. The Wallersee pilgrimage in mid-September has become a fixed part of the Harvest Festival in the Salzburg Lake District. The highlight of the Neumarkt Harvest Festival is the traditional Ruperti City Festival in September.\u00a0<\/strong>Landlords, farmers, town bands, traditional costume clubs and dance groups, as well as traditional handicrafts make this festival a truly unforgettable experience for young and old.<\/p>\n
