In fact, their majesties Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress Sissi set out from Heiligenblut 165 years ago to personally conquer this beautiful pass road, now located in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalpark.at\">Hohe Tauern National Park.<\/a> From the beginning of May until October, Bruck is thus the ideal starting point for an impressive, 48 km scenic ride by car or bike, taking you up through a total of 36 hairpin bends. Another special feature: the Grossglockner High Alpine Road will be closed for the duration of the event \u2013 so the ascent can be enjoyed car-free. In the summer, there are many small events such as the \u201cRund-uman-Brunn\u201d festivals or the \u201eAlmabtrieb\u201c \u2013 when the cattle is brought home from the mountains, which always focus on topics such as tradition, regionality and sustainability.
