Hours of fun for the whole family can also be had ice skating or curling. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalpark.at\/en\/holiday\/winter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nationalpark.at<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>A RELAXING WINTER<\/h3>\n<p>SalzburgerLand\u2019s six thermal spas and wellness oases are real temples of rest, relaxation and wellbeing. Piste and pool are often just a stone\u2019s throw from one another, as is the case in the famous Gastein Valley. Some visit to simply enjoy the peace and quiet, whilst others take full advantage of the luxury of sauna, hammam and body treatments. Water babies can have the time of their lives on giant water slides, climbing walls and diving boards.<\/p>\n<p>The Alpentherme and Felsentherme thermal spas in the Gastein Valley, Therme Amad\u00e9\u00a0adventure spa in Altenmarkt, the TAUERN SPA in Zell am See-Kaprun, the Aqua Salza in Golling and the Heiltherme Bad Viguan all belong to the SalzburgerThermenLand land of thermal spas. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salzburgerthermen.at\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.salzburgerthermen.at<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>AN ACTIVE WINTER<\/h3>\n<p>Ice kiting, zorbing or segwaying through the winter landscape. Fashionable and fun sports activities can be tried out at many winter sports resorts.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>SalzburgerLand is an Eldorado for <strong>ice climbing<\/strong> on natural ice. The \u201cKolm Saigurn Ice Arena\u201d in the Rauris National Park Valley is one of the most rewarding ice climbing areas in SalzburgerLand and is well renowned far and wide. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.raurisertal.at\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">raurisertal.at<\/a><\/li>\n<li>An extensive and varied network of <strong>cross-country skiing <\/strong>extends for more than 2,200 km across SalzburgerLand and is suitable for all types of Nordic sport \u2013 from classic cross-country skiing to skating and laser biathlon. It includes floodlit trails and snow-sure high-altitude trails such on the Rossbrand in Filzmoos.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.salzburgersportwelt.com\/en\/holiday.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">salzburgersportwelt.com<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The cross-country skiing village of Faistenau near to the city of Mozart offers a perfect infrastructure with 70 km of perfectly groomed skating and classic trails, a night cross-country skiing trail, changing room with showers and free bus connections. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.langlaufdorf.at\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.langlaufdorf.at<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The traditional sports form of <strong>ski touring <\/strong>has become popular again in recent years. Special bindings and skins help you ascend away from groomed slopes and speed downhill on-piste or over untouched powder and deep-snow slopes. Ski touring is a fantastic way to experience nature for anybody who is familiar with the terrain. Beginners should, however, call on the services of an experienced guide. There are marked ski tour ascent routes on the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier for beginners; in the Fuschl Lake region and in the Heutel in the Salzburger Saalachtal there are educational touring trails; there is an educational ski tour to the Gnadenalm in Obertauern and the Ronachkopf in Zell am See-Kaprun is the first ski touring mountain in SalzburgerLand. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zellamsee-kaprun.com\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">zellamsee-kaprun.com<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>AN ENCHANTING WINTER<\/h3>\n<p>Christmas is adored in Obendorf bei Salzburg. This is the very place where, more than 200 years ago, the world-famous carol \u201cSilent Night\u201d was written, composed and sung for the very first time. Come advent, Salzburg\u2019s urban and rural areas are sprinkled with Christmas markets, concerts, advent singing and festive performances. Rural-alpine traditions meet high culture in a festive setting. The first snow, the visit from St Nicholas and the Krampus and culinary delights, from \u201cVanillekipferl\u201d (vanilla crescent-shaped cookies) to \u201cKletzenbrot\u201d (fruit cake), help time
