Splendid valley and mountain lakes<\/h2>\n

When in SalzburgerLand, you\u2019re never far away from a source of fresh water: 180 natural lakes, 22 artificial swimming lakes and more than 60 outdoor pools provide the ideal conditions for water fanatics. The lakes have crystal clear water with drinking water quality. Sailing, surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, fishing or boating are refreshing and fun. The countless pasture and mountain lakes are considered among the most pristine waters in SalzburgerLand. The UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Salzburger Lungau contains more than 60 mountain lakes \u2014 more than anywhere else in Europe. Among the many mesmerising hiking destinations are Reedsee lake in Bad Gastein, Seewaldsee lake in St. Kolomann, Tappenkarsee lake in Kleinarl or the Hochgebirgsstausee lake in Kaprun.<\/p>\n

Streams, waterfalls, rivers, canyons and ravines<\/h2>\n

When it rages, sprays, cracks and gushes, it\u2019s usually a sign that the water is using its immense strength to make its way through the rock, where it often reaches impressive heights. SalzburgerLand is a paradise for rafting and kayaking enthusiasts: Especially the Lammer and Saalach rivers are considered hot spots for these activities. The Strubklamm ravine is particularly suitable for canyoning, whereas you can make your way through the Salzach\u00f6fen canyon via flying fox. If this is all a little too much for you, then why not take a walk through the ravines via the secure trails such as the Liechtensteinklamm ravine, the Lammer\u00f6fen canyon in Tennengau, the Vorderkaserklamm ravine in Salzburg\u2019s Saalachtal valley or the Sigmund-Thun Klamm ravine in Zell am See-Kaprun. Or you could also get splashed by one of the many waterfalls, such as the 380-metre-high Krimmler waterfalls in the Hohe Tauern National Park.<\/p>\n
