There are restrictions on the number of people attending events such as concerts and other cultural events. It is mandatory to wear face coverings in museums, as it is in other indoor public spaces. It goes without saying that during the coronavirus crisis, exhibitions, museum tours and the like are able to go ahead only under certain circumstances. Here we answer the most important questions about the general conditions and necessary protective measures.
HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN AN EVENT?
From Saturday 17th October 00.00 until provisionally Saturday 1st November at 24.00, tighter restrictions will apply to events throughout the province of SalzburgerLand:
- Throughout the entire province, indoor and outdoor events without allocated seating are prohibited. The only exceptions are for professional sports and group training events for elite athletes. No food and drink may be served during events with assigned seating.
- Private gatherings with people outside of your own household are prohibited.
- A maximum of 100 people are allowed at funerals.
Since 21st September, private celebrations held indoors are restricted to up to 10 people. Since 23rd October private celebrations held indoors are restricted to up to 6 people.
WILL A CERTAIN EVENT TAKE PLACE? CAN THIS BE PREDICTED?
It is not uniformly regulated as to whether or not planned events can or will take place. Many events have already postponed until a later date, whilst the organisers of others are waiting to see how the situation develops. We therefore ask for your patience and that you check the events’ respective websites for more information. All events organisers are continuing to closely monitor the situation, in order to ensure that they follow and implement the relevant guidelines as and when they are put in place by the government and health authorities.
MAJOR EVENTS THAT HAVE BEEN CANCELLED
Salzburg Advent Singing: The events that were scheduled to take place in the Large Festival Hall have been moved to 2021. Tickets that have already been booked can either be transferred to the 2021 Salzburg Advent Singing or issued with a refund.
After the rebooking process of tickets has been completed, it is expected that tickets for the 2021 Salzburg Advent Singing Anniversary can be booked online from the end of October at www.salzburgeradventsingen.at.
After a hopefully swift containment to the pandemic, we are looking ahead to 2021 with a sense of great joy and optimism. Next year will see the celebration of a very special anniversary: 75 Years of Salzburg Advent Singing (1946—2021).
WHAT REGULATIONS ARE IN PLACE FOR THE WELLNESS INDUSTRY AND SPORTING SECTOR?
Wellness and pool areas in public swimming baths and spas can be used when adhering to the necessary distancing and hygiene measures (information in German only). This is also the case when participating in other leisure activities and visiting museums and attractions.
It is mandatory to wear a face covering in all indoor public spaces, such as in the entrance areas and in changing rooms (with the exception of in damp environments such as showers and swimming pools, and when participating in sports) and a minimum distance of one metre must also be adhered to.
How many people are allowed in the pool at the same time?
Access to wellness and bathing areas is restricted when the minimum distance of one metre cannot be adhered to.
The same rules apply when entering fitness areas, sports studios and similar facilities.
Separate rules apply when participating in team sports or sports that by their nature require physical contact. These can be found (in German) under $8 here.
