Vystudovan\u00e1 odbornice na TEH napsala p\u0159ed lety diplomovou pr\u00e1ci o sv\u00e9m obl\u00edben\u00e9m stromu, ka\u0161tanu ko\u0148sk\u00e9m, a dodnes je fascinov\u00e1na rozmanit\u00fdmi l\u00e9\u010div\u00fdmi \u00fa\u010dinky tohoto stromu: \u201eZe stromu se d\u00e1 vyu\u017e\u00edt v\u0161echno. Od pupen\u016f p\u0159es listy a kv\u011bty a\u017e po plody nebo k\u016fru. Podobn\u00e9 je to s topolem balz\u00e1mov\u00fdm, na kter\u00fd jsem narazila opravdu jen n\u00e1hodou. V salcbursk\u00fdch les\u00edch byste ho prakticky nena\u0161li. V Salcbursk\u00e9m Lungau je ale \u010dast\u00fd. Roste u statk\u016f i na n\u00e1vs\u00edch. Z pupen\u016f se vyr\u00e1b\u00ed olej, ze kter\u00e9ho se p\u0159ipravuje tradi\u010dn\u00ed dom\u00e1c\u00ed mast. L\u00e9\u010div\u00e9 vlastnosti balz\u00e1mov\u00e9ho topolu, stejn\u011b jako ka\u0161tanu ko\u0148sk\u00e9ho, potvrdily mnoh\u00e9 studie. Odkud p\u0159esn\u011b balz\u00e1mov\u00fd topol poch\u00e1z\u00ed, je ale st\u00e1le trochu z\u00e1hadou.
