Nordic Walking comes from Finland and was originally introduced as a form of summer training for cross-country and biathlon athletes. Through the use of poles with special grips, a whole-body training approach was developed which exercises both the cardio-circulatory system and 90% of the entire musculature.
Numerous Nordic Walking trails already exist in the SalzburgerLand, some of which are clearly marked. And of course, glorious countryside along the way helps make exercise more enjoyable than ever.
