In order that we might retrace portions of Mozart's travels by bicycle, the Mozart Cycle Path was opened in May 2003.
Departing from Salzburg City and extending for some 450 km, it is possible to ride to a variety of different milestones in the life of this composer and his family.
The tour takes us through the Salzburg lake district, via Oberndorf, then into Bavaria and along the shores of lake Chiemsee, continuing upriver next to the Inn to Rosenheim, and then back to Austria in the direction of Kufstein. Via Waidring, Lofer, Bad Reichenhall and Berchtesgaden, we then come full circle, as the bike route leads us back to Salzburg City once more.
